The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (HEPA) Office provides a range of financial assistance such as the Student Welfare Fund, bursaries, small loans, as well as special aid to ease the burden of students facing financial difficulties. Through these initiatives, many students are able to continue their studies without being weighed down by financial concerns that could otherwise affect their focus on campus.

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) continues to demonstrate its commitment to student welfare through the implementation of the Ziarah Kasih Program, held in conjunction with the admission of new students for the 2025/2026 academic session. Organized by the Student Affairs Division (BHEP), the program focuses on students from low-income families, including members of the Indigenous (Orang Asli) community who often face challenges in pursuing higher education.
